The search for a new job continues....

Hello everyone

I've been trying to find a new job for ages - fed up in my current one, where I feel underutilized and underappreciated. :-(

I think I'm up to 11 applications so far - all flat out rejections bar one, where I passed the first round of tests, only to get a 'Dear John' letter today. I am beyond gutted - it was the job of my dreams and a bit step up from what I currently do.

Have spent the day feeling very miserable, am determined to dust myself off and get back on the horse (as it were).

I have 2 more potential jobs to go for, both for the same company.
One is a more specialised role than the other, and therefore better paid. A few of the items on the job specification are things I did in jobs pre-children, but not recently. My current job covers most, but not all of the other items. I think this post is being re-advertised...

The other role is less specific and more junior, but would be a good filler on my C.V. Both are full time, which would be a big change for me but I think I can manage it.

So, my question is - I shouldn't apply for both, should I?
Should I go for the better-paid option which might be a bit of a long shot (but possible!), or the other, lesser paid option.

I can't decide, so please let me know what you think.
Thank you!!

I would aim for the better paid one, if you think you're in with a shot. It's tough when you've been unsuccessful with applications but sometimes more senior roles with specific skills have fewer applicants
