We have just booked a U.K. break for the week beginning 30th August and noticed the price is significantly cheaper. I'm guessing a lot of schools are due back that week?? Mine don't go back until the 8th September but then don't break up until 23rd July. We're in the south west and just curious really Smile

I'm the same as you and also have a holiday booked that week.

Northern Ireland finished 30th June (some a few days earlier this year as teachers worked days they wouldn't normally have worked due to covid, getting cag done.) I've one starting big school who is in on 27th Aug for a day. The others are back on 1st Sept.

Landslidelife · 12/07/2021 15:50

Break up Friday, back 6th September.

DrunkenKoala · 12/07/2021 15:54

We break up on 23rd. The school website is saying we’re back in on Fri 3 (inset days on the 1 & 2 Sept) but I’ve not checked that with headteacher - wondering if it’s a typo as it seems too soon.

My son’s secondary breaks up on 23rd and back Mon 6 Sept.

lazylump72 · 12/07/2021 15:56

23rd break up return 6th sept

DanceFortheSummer · 12/07/2021 16:02

Midlands - we break up on Friday (16th July) back in on Wednesday 1st September, we would have been back on Tuesday 31st if the head had got her way but all the local schools have 2 insets then and holiday clubs still running until 3rd September. (I know this as I'm a parent governor, headteacher wanted them all back on 31st as she hates insets at the beginning of term, always puts them on the end to make the holidays longer)

Youdiditanyway · 12/07/2021 16:19

Break up 23rd. Primary DC go back on the 7th, secondary on the 8th.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 12/07/2021 16:39

Leicestershire schools have already broken up, on 9th July. I believe they go back on 24th August.
The private school I work in broke up on 7th July but they aren't back until 8th September.

Sparticle · 12/07/2021 16:49

North west, break up this Friday 16th and go back Thursday 2nd.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 12/07/2021 16:50

It's weird how it's all different, some areas seem to get a longer summer holiday by nearly 2 weeks! How does that work, I thought all schools had the same amount of time off? (England)
