Not happy where I am currently, really need a chance/spice up/increase in salary. I'm due to go on ML in October and plan to look and apply while I'm off 🤞🏻

Would just love to hear some positive stories about others who'd done the same.

Yes - me! I work in a very specific profession, though, so I'm not sure how generalisable my story is. I resigned from my job during maternity leave (due to my T&Cs I didn't have to go back or return any maternity pay). Covid hit while I was off work, so I did some freelance work until, a few months later, literally my dream job came up. Applied, got it, and here I am! I am fortunate in that I work in a profession where there is very little unemployment, so I was able to resign from my first job fairly secure in the knowledge that I'd find something else. I do earn less now, but that's because I work much shorter hours; the pay per hour is similar.
