I'm taking the DC campibg there abd feeling a bit anxious. Any advice, tips, recommendations?

Is there direct access to the beach, and is it a nice beach?

Is there a nice local day out you can recommend, without costing the earth?

It’s next to the beach. We didn’t go on but I think it was shingly. We went to Great Yarmouth for the day and a huge RSPB place which the children liked. We weren’t there for long so no more tips I’m afraid!
We also went to Aldeburgh for a few hours which was pretty.

Oooo he have stayed nearby a few times. I bloody love that area.

Beaches are nice, Lowestoft is a nice enough seaside town to potter in. Proper archetypal / charmingly run down, like skeggy or Bridlington.

Our favourite cheap (free) day out is the redwings horse and donkey sanctuary. It’s fab.

You have to book but it’s free. Donations welcome. My horse mad daughter usually blows her all pocket money and then some in the gift shop.

Southwold beach and pier are a ten minute drive, beautiful if a tad pricey.
Africa Alive is almost on the doorstep, take a look online.

Oh Norwich is a drive but beautiful, Cathedral is lovely with great grounds, there’s a market in the centre of town. For children there’s a quiz at the cathedral, there is alsoNorwich castle and museum.

@BillMasheen thank you. We have 3 ponies and I think the DC would like a break from them. They have to come with me to our yard twice a day, every day. Grin I love it but they get a bit fed up

The beach next to the site wasn't very sandy when we went, mainly pebbles, access isn't great if you have a pram either. Better to go to Southwold, lovely beach, shops, the cafe on the Pier is lovely.
