Anyone familiar with Hay on Wye?

Where would you recommend for a really top-notch full afternoon tea - the kind that is best served on those triple-storey plate turrets with finger sandwiches, scones and cakes?

Ideally served in a beautiful rose garden with a gorgeous view but will settle for a less idyllic location for the sake of a good tea.

Llangoed Hall or Lemore Manor

@Hobnobswantshernameback and anyone else who wants to know this question in future: for logistical reasons we couldn't manage the two suggested by @Fivemoreminutes1 as they are both a little drive out from the town and we were on foot. We went to The Swan having gathered from their website that they offered the kind of thing that we were after. It was nice but not outstanding - the scones didn't seem freshly baked but there was a good variety of sandwiches and some good cakes&treats including an imaginative mini rice pudding with a very good fruit compote. Service was middling and would have been considered poor in non-covid times but we make allowances for everything being more difficult at the moment. The location was perfect with nicely shaded seating in a beautiful garden.

We will definitely have further trips to Hay in future so anyone else who can post a review of any other competitors would be most welcome to do so here.

Don't know about afternoon teas but if you're in Hay on Wye it would be disastrous to leave without having ice cream at Shepherds! 🤤🍦
