Help! So DS (first photo) rediculously straight hair won't do anything apart from lie flat. Wants hair like in the second photo (not curly but not flat) so how does he achieve this?

Perm. Loads of boys having them where I teach.

A bit of volumising mousse teased through would possibly help? Not sure as my son has the opposite problem - wants his hair to lie flat and it won’t!

@Pieceofpurplesky he absolutely doesn't want a perm, his friend had one and had to have his head shaved because it was so curly! He just wants it a bit messy not curly.

I don't think it's possible with such straight hair unless he uses a curling wand every day. You could get a perm but keep it loose.

Have you tried texturising paste? I believe Got2Be do one. You rub it on your fingers and pull it apart and it creates sticky fibres. It would mess his hair up enough to look similar to 2nd pic.
