I'm meeting a friend next week for a catchup. She wants to go to Wagamama. I haven't been there for years. What would you recommend?

TIA

42 is Yaki Udon
Chicken Katsu is 71

Both are good!
As are the donburis.

Chilli squid

TotorosCatBus · 12/07/2021 21:50

My dd always goes for Teriyaki Salmon

I vary my order but last time it was the Chicken Donburi

Chilli Squid is our fave side

Love matcha cheesecake for dessert which is sadly not available on Deliveroo or in the Wagamama cookbooks 😭

Who has tried the Wagamama kits and sauces from Morrison's?

Youdiditanyway · 12/07/2021 21:57

Yasai Katsu. DH always gets chicken firecracker.

We tried the sauces from morrisons, don’t waste your money.

Chicken Katsu Curry

CommanderBurnham · 12/07/2021 22:01

This is so funny, basically the whole menu has been recommended.

I took the children for the first time yesterday: they're hooked!

For those abroad, get the cookbook!

I’ve tried the Wagamama pad Thai meal kit and weren’t impressed at all! The sauce was very salty , virtually no flavour and extremely thin and vinegary! Really unpleasant!

Ginger chicken udon! So good I don’t ever bother to order anything else. I miss Wagamama, it was a happy place for me and the kids whenever DH had to travel (often). Seems like a different life!

Longdistance · 12/07/2021 22:48

My dds love Wagamama’s. We always make a beeline for it if we go to the theatre.
I’m going to Bath in a few weeks, we’ll book up for then too.

Katefoster · 13/07/2021 08:06

Yaki Soba❤️

OhWhyNot · 13/07/2021 08:15

Raisukaree Curry either chicken or prawn I like both
It’s like Thai curry it’s lovely and fresh tasting and quite hot

Chicken curry and chilli squid

Ds loves chilli chicken ramen and the chicken gyoza

We can get Wagamama on our Deliveroo it’s not a restaurant but a small warehouse that just caters for delivers they are so busy now just need a Five Guys to do the same thing

@MouseholeCat

We live in the US now and I miss Wagamama so much! I usually had the Yasai Pad Thai and my husband would have the Firecracker Chicken. We were both obsessed with those dishes!

The curries are good too. Years ago they had an amazing limited-time curry, I think it was called Surendra's curry which I used to have with fish. I'd give anything to go back in time and have that again!

Wagamama does exist in the US, there are at least 2 in Boston. It’s more or less the same as in the U.K.

I didn't like the food at Wagamama's at all and hate that they bring everything out at random times so you're all eating at different times.

We make a katsu curry at home and although we're hardly amazing chefs it was delicious and much better than anything I've had there. I'd definitely recommend looking up a recipe online and giving it a go sometime.

Carycy · 13/07/2021 09:25

Yakisoba with chicken and prawn is my staple

That's usually how any sort of thread like this goes. It's just the menu presented in a random fashion.

You just have to pick something you like the look of, everyone's tastes differ.

What surprises me is the number of people who say they always have the same thing. On a menu like Wagamama, where there's loads of options, there's always loads of different things I want to try, so even if I try something and like it, I'll want to try something different next time.

eurochick · 13/07/2021 13:58

Pad Thai is my usual order. I also like the miso and pickles on the side!

Alittlebitlostrightnow · 13/07/2021 13:59

Naked Katsu!!!! Delicious.
