Got a few hours today want freshair, walk and a potter around and pub lunch

Also recommendations on where to eat

Lovely little place, especially on a Thursday night. They have a fantastic traditional Scottish night. We have only ever been on Scottish night ad we camp close by in Creetown. We have always gone to the fish shop (polar something or other) in market square. I believe you can sit in and they do a more restaurant style menu. Best fish and chips iv ever had.

Watch out for the centipede

Yes it is. Nice potter. Polar Bites for f’n’c, the eat them by the harbour. We go to D&G fir a holiday every couple of years.

Ome of our favourite places. Polar bites do some amazing gourmet fishcakes as well as traditional fish and chips. The sitting area isn't that great, much nicer to eat by the harbour. Lots of little galleries and shops to potter in too. The tourist info office has just reopened and you can buy a town walk guide.

Lovely place - can see why it was/is so popular with artists. Hornel house is worth a visit, and the town is lovely to just wander round - lots of pretty gardens. Agree with pp regarding the fish and chips but if weather permits would eat them outside by the harbour.

There's a castle ruin in the middle of town too. Some nice galleries/independent shops.
