Little Things That Have Made You Happy Recently

It’s such a simple thing but I recently discovered that our local chippy does “ half chips” & it’s the perfect amount for me. I always wasted loads, even if DH helped out. Even the small portions were too big! For some reason they don’t advertise the half chips but I overheard someone asking. Changed my life lol 🤣 What small things have made you happy?

My younger DD went on a school trip yesterday. The normality of that made me happy.

But it meant elder DD both walked to school and home from school by herself as younger DD had a longer day.

Also... my younger DD, who has been obsessed by giraffes since a baby...saw her first giraffe in real life earlier in the week. (She saw then as a toddler but can't remember it).
We are loving living near a zoo!

Wireless hoover, I always felt down looking at all the bits on the floor but couldn't be bothered pulling out the hoover and dragging it around. Now I just whizz it round, sounds silly but life is so busy/complicated so anything that makes life easier is appreciated.

Anyone else?

Bumping into a woman I'd not seen for ages and remembering how much I liked her. Suggested meeting up and she seemed keen. We are not friends but the few times we've met up she's seemed so lovely.

Nivea (moisturising) body mousse, thanks to an MN thread. Game changer.

A bargain antique garnet ring.

My new extra firm mattress. Heaven. Smile

Not quite so little, but I have just spent a week on holiday in the UK with my 3 young adult DC and we had a really lovely time together. It’s very rare we’re all together even pre Covid. It’s the first week away we’ve had together since my now exH left three years ago. I am so grateful for the effort they all made to be there.

My little boy had his first ever swimming lesson, and he loved it!

This is very little but I had a thorough shower earlier using new face wash and shampoo then put on my new white trainers and felt very content and clean

I posted about this a few days ago, but my Dad is in hospital with cancer and needed a mobile phone.
I went to Tescos and the man there couldn't have been more helpful. He knew I wanted a sim free phone because Dad already has a Tesco sim, and we had just put £30 on it.
He went into the store and brought out a phone that had sat on the shelf for 5 years and gave it to me for free.

I am obsessed with flowers, I have a terraced house but a flower bed that is full of lavender, sunflowers, violas all sorts growing wildly and I love it! I love buying and planting. But I especially love buying flowers for my bedroom. Last week I bought peonies and watching them bloom from small buds with their different pinks and their scent makes me happy. It’s like bringing the outdoors in. I sound like an old lady (I’m 28) but they literally make me so happy.

Speaking of flowers and small things, I bought a gorgeous bunch of Sweet Williams in Sainsbury’s two weeks ago for just £2 and they are still going strong, absolutely beautiful and not a sign of wilt.

Yorkshire Tea has a new range out - jam and toast flavour, biscuit flavour and night-time (nutmeg and vanilla). Unusual but tasty and helped cheer me up during lockdown

I've got the jam and toast one. It's actually quite nice!

For me mine would be :

  1. my usual team sport starting up again
  2. getting my hair done for the first time in years
  3. having a couple of drunken nights out with friends - been ages and had a really tough time lately so it was so good to let my hair down so to speak

@Cocolapew

Love that. Nice bloke! Thinking of you and your dad.
