Why doesn't my washing smell fresh?

I've tried everything - varying washing liquids/powders/conditioners

Doing an empty hot wash

Doing a wash with white vinegar/bicarb

Line drying when weather allows

It doesn't smell bad but not nice and fresh. Washing machine is over 10 years old but it's a Miele which are supposed to go on forever.

Any tips please?

Great, thank you all.

I do clean the drawer but haven’t done the filters. Good tip.

@bendmeoverbackwards

I always worry about shrinkage if washed too hot.
Considering your body is 37 degrees, 40 is fine.

I find that if I shut the door. I leave it wide open all the time now and it's fine.

Also I wash everything at 40 except sheets and towels, so 6 loads a week are at 60, which I think makes a difference.

Also clean around the rubber seal on the door, I pulled a ton of gunk from inside mine recently which had not been shifted by the machine clean cycle and was stuck in the rubber folds.
