Terrifying. Dont know why he's not more infamous tbh. I mean terrorising LA (was it LA) for how long?

That one where he chased the girl into her house and she hid behind the kitchen counter and then waited for her to raise her head was Shock

And the other when he shot and missed/grazed and she ran round the outside of the house to get away and saw him come out the front door with a gun... and he just looked at her and walked away...

Rubyrecka · 09/07/2021 10:49

Yeah I'd heard of him before but the documentary is chilling.

I agree with pp I'm surprised he's not more infamous globally like Ted Bundy.

dayswithaY · 09/07/2021 11:00

If that scares you try watching a documentary about the Golden State Killer. He is the stuff of nightmares.

I'm currently reading "I'll Be Gone In The Dark" and I may never sleep again.

Netflxio · 09/07/2021 11:03

I'm absolutely astounded.. ASTOUNDED how many victims he had and how long he got away with it for.

That is my weekend sorted, also agree with @dayswithaY and recommend reading about the golden state killer. Terrifying stuff, I often wonder how much the learning and writting about those horrors while writing I'll be gone in the dark contributed to Michelle McNamara's death. Sad she never got to see the resolution but the science behind how they caught him is fascinating

Rubyrecka · 09/07/2021 11:10

I think he looks evil too. That sharp high cheek bone and dark eyes. Gives me the heebie jeebies

Netflxio · 09/07/2021 11:25

It's absolutely sickening.. But dare I say it, I do find documentaries about serial killers interesting and gripping.

I watched it a few months ago I'm fascinated by true crime, but yes he was particularly chilling

CatsArePeople · 09/07/2021 11:39

don't have netflix but i've seen a documentary about him before. And he had a substantial fandom among young females too Shock

Netflxio · 09/07/2021 11:40

I would have never heard about him until watching the documentary. Seems odd he isn't more prolific.

In the world of true crime Ramirez is well known. The problem is he was completely unrepentant, smirked and laughed all through his trial.

Most serial killers are very good at masking, when caught they either can't wait to talk and boast about their crimes (like Ted Bundy) or they go all silent and mysterious and just accept their sentence.

Ramirez just seems other worldly and that's a frightening thing. He's probably a bit much, even for true crime documentaries.

Yes, this then i watched I'll be gone in the dark. I then saw a documentary about Ed Kemper. Add in i watched the Yorkshire Ripper on Netflix at xmas , i can honestly say i have not had a full nights sleep since. Terrifying.
