nrt Wales to sth... where to stop off?

Its not a huge drive from Wrexham to Port Talbot, but my eldest gets car sick so we're planning to stop off somewhere.

Doesnt have to be half way. I know Shropshire fairly well as I lived there for years so would like to have a noesy around somewhere new for a few hours.

We are more of a nice cafe/pub mooch around a village type of family than a quick hike up a mountain family. More than happy to drive a little for a worthy veiw though.

Also dont want to divert too much off the main drag - theres a LOT of Wales to get lost in round those parts

Church Stretton?
There's the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms. Last went years ago, but it was quite interesting.
Stokesay Castle a couple of miles further south.

Last two might take more time than you want to spend.

I used to live in Church Stretton, loved it there. We'll go and visit for longer sometime. I have friends there I'd like to have more than a quick pint with :)

Croft Castle is a nice day out. There are a couple of play areas, picnic area, second hand book shop, walled garden and tea room.
