Is this the start of chicken pox? Or bites?

I’ve noticed these two marks/spots/bites on my 2 year old. They don’t seem to be bothering her and she’s had a bath so I know there’s none I’m missing (at the moment). She does go to nursery who haven’t mentioned chicken pox to me at all so I’m not sure if it’s that. But she’s my first child and I have no idea what these marks could be. One is on the top of her arm and the other her foot. They disappear if you apply pressure and seem to have a little head on.

If it is chickenpox you will probably find out tomorrow when she has more! They do look more like bites to me as if I remember that far back chicken pox tend to come up more on the body at first, then they go anywhere.

They look like bites I think

I agree with @viques. My older three all had chicken pox and the spots literally appear overnight. By the end of the day, there were loads more. The spots would look really angry and quickly have blisters on the top. They often start on the main body, and quickly spread literally everywhere else. If in doubt (but you will know by tomorrow) get some bicarbonate of soda for some baths. It helps take away the itches. Also check on line for guidelines, as i think the advice is not to give the child ibruprofen, but it could be paracetamol. This is really important.

I think bites. If they come out really fluid filled in the morning it's pox.

I think bites as well, but as others have said, if it is CP, there'll be no doubt by morning.

I think bites.. cold usually appear on the torso first, just one or two and then are everywhere

TheCatsPjammas · 08/07/2021 20:00

darn cp instead of cold!

I thought DS1 aged 3 at the time had bites (we had moved into new house and carpets were flea ridden) but when I picked him up from nursery they said chicken pox, and dr confirmed. However dr also said my one year old who I had with me also had it, and he only had one or two spots just like in your pic, which I hadn’t noticed, and didn’t develop any more, so if the dr hadn’t told me I would not have known. I was breastfeeding the one year old so perhaps he had some immunity from me.

Thank you! I guess we will have to wait and see tomorrow! My sister said I had CP twice as a child, the first time wasn’t bad (I don’t remember) but the second time I am literally scarred from it and remember it vividly 😬
I suppose it might also be flea bites, MIL has a cat and she looks after her during the week when she’s not at nursery. I know which I am hoping for 😂
