HELP - Name suggestions for a local group, where young males can come to to talk about their wellbeing and mental health????

Helping a friend set up a local support group aimed at youngsters - mostly males - to help and support anyone worried about their mental health and wellbeing - take away the stigma of men asking for help etc.

Any ideas on names? So far we've got:

RESTORE/MENDING MINDS/THE HEALTHY HUB

But want something more male orientated...any ideas welcome! thanking you :)

Homines Latin for men
The Group
Solidarity

From your list I really like restore, not so keen on the rest

Such a good idea, I wish it well
It’s hard chasing a name Some of the terms around support groups can be a bit institutional

Myneighboursnorlax · 07/07/2021 18:51

If you like mending minds from your original list, can you make more focus on the word “men” at the beginning? Maybe have it be a different colour to the rest of the name.

Men's Den

ThursdayWeld · 07/07/2021 18:57

When you say "youngsters", what age are you aiming at?

Thinking if appealing yo young males / teens do you want a sort of 'cool' vibe in the name so it's a space named for something they'd want to attend to socialise rather than named in a way that leaps out to suggest support?

I'm absolutely not suggesting any thi g us wrong with that, but if you have potential service users that are shy, withdrawn or don't want to be seen needing help or support poss try a name that stops them thinking there is any stigma.

Andy's man club is a typical example, just a down to earth blokey name.

The Male Room
Geezers

I take it there are people already accessing this group from your OP?
I'd be inclined to ask those using the service to come up with the name together.

Thanks some great thoughts and ideas love Geezers!

If your group is also open to girls then having a male specific name won’t reflect that. You say “mostly males” which suggests girls sometimes.

MotionActivatedDog · 07/07/2021 19:05

Sorry should add it won’t reflect that and will mean girls won’t realise they can use the service.

There is a group called The Proper Blokes Club. Started in one South East London borough and is spreading. Not just younger males though. Have a look at their Facebook page. Am sure am Scott who runs it would be happy to help with ideas as well.
