Hand shaking

I for one will never go back to this (pretty yucky) greeting.

But today, 2 people at work offered me their hand to shake. The first one I managed to avoid by doing a fist bump, the second one I sort of ignored.

What would be the right etiquette for refusing?

Can you just do an air elbow bump?

Where I live it's (was) normal to greet people with kisses on each cheek - I'm not missing that!
