Linked In - viewing others without them knowing

I work for a huge MNC with many people doing the same type of role as me. I'd like to look at how some of my colleagues describe their roles as I'm rubbish at CV writing and I don't want to under call what I've been doing. I don't want them to know I've viewed their profiles as that might raise questions and of course I don't want to let on I'm considering looking elsewhere.

I thought I'd found how to do this in the settings but at the very bottom where it says 'upgrade to premium to see all your viewers in the last 90 days while browsing in private mode' - does that mean if they have premium, they will know I've viewed their profile?

Is there any way I can have a look without them knowing?

Nope. You have to upgrade. It amuses me to see who has viewed my profile but equally I have been caught out Blush

@Northernsoullover I just seemed to have a few blokes I had known in the past, who were always a bit creepy, looking. No actual employers. One of them get suggesting skills via LinkedIn. Very odd. As I am sort of on sabbatical, possibly retired, I have taken my profile down. [Hmm]

If you Google it will tell you now to change to Private view mode.via Settings.

You don’t have to pay Premium.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 07/07/2021 18:41

No, if you change to Premium you can see who viewed your profile, even if you are viewing other people in private mode.

If you change to private mode on free, you won’t be able to see who views your profile either; until you switch back.

If you use an incognito window on Chrome and search for LinkedIn + the name, you can sometimes see the profile (depending on their settings)

daisybrown37 · 07/07/2021 18:56

Sorry- I misread your question.

daisybrown37 · 07/07/2021 18:59

Found this on LinkedIn

If you have a Premium account, you can browse anonymously and still see the list of people who viewed your profile. However, even if you have a Premium account, you still can't view the names of anonymous viewers of your own profile.

BlackCatsRule88 · 07/07/2021 18:59

It probably doesn’t apply in this situation, but for others do be wary of using the free private mode. Although it means people can’t see exactly who has viewed their profile, it does show up as “Someone from has viewed your profile”.

I’d just set up a fake account.

neverenoughchelseaboots · 07/07/2021 19:02

You have the right setting there on the screen shot. What it means is that if you go onto private mode, you no longer can see who's viewed you. By paying for premium you can appear anonymous and still see who viewed you.

LinkedInQ · 07/07/2021 19:19

Thanks. I don't care who has viewed me, I just don't want others to know I am viewing them... so it sounds like I'm ok, even if they have premium (which I obviously wouldn't know if they did)?
