Help me buy gifts?

I'm wanting to start getting birthday and Christmas gifts now as after bills and stuff I don't really have much spare money and with a baby due next month that isn't going to be changing anytime soon.

I have 2 friends that I'd like to buy birthday presents for (before Christmas) but I'm planning to do this for about £10 each just as a way to show that I care and I'm here (one is throwing me a baby shower and one is really struggling with her mental health). I also have my grandma (£15-20?), my boyfriends grandma (£10?), my mum (£30?), my dad (£30?), my boyfriends mum (£10?) and my friends daughter who will be 4 (£10?).

Then for Christmas I have my Auntie and Uncle (£10?), the baby (£40?), 4 friends (£10 each?) My boyfriend (£50?), my parents (£30-£40 each?), my boyfriends parents and grandparents (£10 each?), my grandma (£15?) my friends kids and my boyfriends neices (a DIY £15 hamper each?).

That would come up to about £430 and whilst I can probably manage that (if I cut out pretty much all non-essentials) I'd preferably like to cut it down to at least £100 less without leaving anyone out.. I think I'll try to save £50 a month next year so that I have about £600 as I love giving people gifts so feel bad if I can't afford much :/

There is a Christmas board for ideas but you could just open a separate savings account and keep the money in there.

Do you and your boyfriend not buy joint gifts for your parents?

most couples i know tend to buy presents for their own sides of the family. so you buy for your family and your boyfriend buys for his. and if he already buys for them then there’s no need for you to buy for them too. also for friends could you do a secret santa? i’m part of a big friendship group and we do secret santa so everyone only has to buy for one person, normally with a £20 limit. i honestly wouldn’t buy for friend’s children either. none of my friends buy for my kids and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
