Teeth problems

I've had some terrible toothache this past 3 weeks. Some of my molars broke in pregnancy and now that I'm postpartum I'm getting it sorted.

Only issue is they've become infected and a week of antibiotics hasn't touched it - I woke up at 5am with terrible pain in one side of my jaw through to my ear.

I'm booked in for a root can but seriously considering asking to have it yanked out. One of the other teeth is beyond repair and will be yanked out.

The rest of the teeth are not in great nick; I've got pain in all four sets of molars. Apparently I've ground the enamel clean off (didn't know I ground my teeth for starters and will be getting a guard to wear at night).

What I wanted to ask is, if you've had teeth pulled, what happened after? Could you eat on that side ok? Do the gums hurt? Have you had any issues with the other teeth because of the gap? If you've got fillings (all my molars do) or been told similar, how long have the teeth lasted? Have you gotten implants or anything in the gaps?

Thanks for reading.
