Hi 👋
I’m new on here haven’t got a clue how to use this site yet 😬
So I’m 35 weeks pregnant and I’m sooooo worried and scared about goin into hospital or anywhere especially now they are relaxing all the COVID rules. Im having a c section so that’s making me panic even more.

What specifically are you worried about?

Have you had a vaccine?

Bitzs · 07/07/2021 00:34

Hi
No I’ve not had the vaccine got told they haven’t really done much research on pregnant lady’s
I’m worried me or my baby will catch COVID.
I’m a massive worrier ! I don’t know anyone who as had a baby during COVID.
I’m very carful but been in hospital now they relaxing the rules is making my anxiety go thru the roof.

The guidance has changed a lot since then. I understand why some are hesitant but the guidance now is to have it. I’ve had one dose, I’m 29 weeks and will have the other soon. Have you talked to your midwife about your anxiety?

My wife had a c-section last week. Visiting hours were still very restricted and there was complete Covid rule compliance in hospitals. I wouldn’t anticipate hospitals fully relaxing this month, they showed zero intent to do so at our hospital and actually said they had found the new rules much better.

It was hard with visiting being an hour a day, so I wasn’t a fan. But I don’t think you need to worry about infection.

Bitzs · 07/07/2021 00:57

👋
I speak to my midwife an tell her my worries but everyone I talk to is so relaxed an chilled and I just can’t 😔
I know to most I probably sound silly.
I have 3 boys at home 2 of them have left school and the other is homed schooled but it’s been a mission to keep them safe.
I appreciate you guys talking to me

Ooo and can I ask was you allowed to stay with your partner thru the day? How did it work ? If you don’t mind me asking ?

Hi, I had my little boy last year during lockdown. I was also super anxious about covid but everyone there had full PPE & once me and my partner was in our own room we weren't allowed to leave it at all. If my partner had left something in the car he wasn't allowed to go down to get it, once you leave you weren't getting back in! They were great though and let my mam drop things off at reception & the midwifes would just bring it round for us! Feel free to ask any questions you want to put your mind at ease :)

Bitzs · 07/07/2021 01:38

👋
That’s really good I hope my partner can stay with me !

I’ve come this far keeping safe and well I really don’t want it to go tits up
I’m really glad it went well for you and your all safe and well !!
I think with these rules been relaxed and everything goin bk to normal I’ve just got it in my head that hospitals will just do the same the virus is still here and not goin to disappear on the 19th. I’m so excited to meet my baby but this stupid virus is like a gray cloud over me !!! I just want everything to be ok. I just want to be in an out an bk home as soon as I can

I had a C-section 4 weeks ago. Hospital was making every effort to be covid secure. I was an inpatient prior to delivery, on the day of C-section my husband came in and did a lateral flow test, when he got negative result he was allowed to stay with me through section and while I was in recovery, he had to wear full PPE at all times. On the maternity ward partners were allowed to visit for 2 hours a day only in PPE, had to stay at bedside.
I can understand your worries, especially with rising cases, but I really did feel very safe. Good luck with everything, I hope it all goes well Flowers

I had a c section last August.

My baby was born at 9:30pm and I was chucked out at 11am the next day! I thought they were joking. They wanted everyone out as soon as possible.

My other two I was in at least two nights, so you might not be in as long as you think!

bengalcat · 07/07/2021 13:28

At 35 weeks you have time to get your first dose of Pfizer/moderna prior to your section .

SmidgenofaPigeon · 07/07/2021 13:42

Honestly if I was that anxious about catching covid I’d be booking in for my vaccine.

Bitzs · 07/07/2021 14:26

I’ve a appointment with my midwife in a couple of days so I’m goin to have another Chat. Fingers crossed all goes well so I can come home as quick as you did !

mrssunshinexxx · 21/07/2021 02:10

@Bitzs my hosptial isn't relaxing any rules everything staying the same, you have to show lateral flow test for appointments , masks worn, restricted visiting etc

Mindymomo · 21/07/2021 06:21

Please have your vaccine now, it will give your baby some immunity as well. There has been posts on here in the Coronavirus section, nobody has reported any problems. Go to a walk in vaccination centre and have a chat with them.

Bitzs · 21/07/2021 13:24

Hi 👋
I’m goin in to have baby on Friday and because I’m having a c section they won’t give me the jab till after I’ve finished the course of blood thinners.
But soon as I can have the jab I will be doing !!!
My partner as just had his second jab and my soon turns 18 very soon so he will be able to have the jab so we will have some immunity in the house. I’ve just got to hope for the best we all stay healthy
