Doing my own head in trying to remember a word, please help me

I'm blaming the medication, but it is so frustrating.

It's a word that described a really popular antique rose colour in the 1920's 1930's. Used as dress fabric, lipstick etc. It's an antique rose type colour. Not dusty or dusky or powder. Sort of old rose goldy bronzy type colour, like the colour they go when they start drying out.

Please can anyone help my poor addled brain?

My DM used to go on about carmine too, but I think that's redder

annacondom · 06/07/2021 20:27

Sounds like Attar of Roses, but I think that's a perfume.

WeAreTheHeroes · 06/07/2021 20:28

Briar rose, buff, mauve?

potoroo · 06/07/2021 20:28

Hooray! That must be the most useful thing I've done today :)

And I'd forgotten about The Thornbirds! Nice one StCharlotte.

You are all awesome, thank you for your help.

Now if you can find me a replacement or dupe for Avon Crushed Rose lipstick, my life will be complete. I've found two on eBay in America but it costs nearly a tenner to get them delivered.

I found these www.perfumemaster.com/ralph-lauren/glamourous-womens-perfume/similar-scents

Or if you can remember what fragrances were in it you can put it into The Perfume Parlour thingy and it will suggest similar perfumes.
