I'm interested in what is frowned upon nowadays for women in a professional work environment.
For example, bare shoulders or nose piercings.

Professional work environment I’d say conservative with small c. Def not bare shoulders. Nose piercing less an issue if understated. I work in a professional setting and meet a variety of other professional from multiple agencies.
Women wear
dresses
Trousers & top
Accessories to add interest
Shoes tend to be flat , some strapped sandals not too exposed
Usually a smartish if I have to go for meetings or court

In general it’s about being being inappropriate for your workplace is inappropriate Bare shoulders, nose piercing depends on your job really. At my hairdresser a stylist was wearing a Bardot off shoulder dress, nose piercing ..she looked appropriate

Small bank in City of London:

mix of trousers and tops or skirts and tops and dresses. Not a lot of typical matching jacket and skirt/trouser suits unless there is a conservative customer meeting.

Lots of Hobbs, Phase Eight and similar styles.

No bare shoulder but bare arms in Summer is ok, dress/skirt has to be knee level. No halter neck, no bra straps on show, you get a personalised email from HR if necessary.

Shoes are free choice but no flip flops. Heel height depends a lot on the person, we have a mix of everything.

I don't think we have any nose piercing but I would think that a discreet stud is acceptable.
