I've had to sign on to JSA after getting made redundant at the end of my maternity leave this year, I only joined when I knew my childminder was available as there was a waiting list.
Anyway my work coach is now telling me I have to go in for my appointment face to face and I'm not allowed to bring my DD into my 15 minute appointment. There is the option to do this over the phone and some people are allowed. If I don't attend I will have my benefits stopped.
On my last appointment, I waited for my phone appointment and they didn't call, I sent an email 30 mins after asking why and had no response, I was told by the main dwp call line I hadn't attended my appointment. I complained and it was escalated to a manager and had my benefits paid as planned.
I think this mistake is on their end and now I'm being penalised for it. I'm not sure what I can do.
(FYI - I have emergency back up for interviews but not sustainable for a fortnightly appointment.)
