Wedding bar - what am I missing?

Crolisd · 06/07/2021 16:53

Our wedding will be in a barn and we are doing our own bar. So I need to stock it well to make sure everyone is catered for. Here is my list of the basics:

White wine
Red wine
Champagne
Lager
A craft ale
Gin (Gordon’s)
Rum (Havana club)
Vodka (Smirnoff)
Malibu
Cider
Fruit cider

Coke
Diet coke
Tonic
Lemonade
Sparkling water
Orange juice
Cranberry juice

Lots of ice and chopped lime/lemons

Would there be something on this list for you? What brand preference would you have for the lager/beer/cider? What other soft drinks would you have?

A rose wine as well maybe?

cheesecrackerz · 06/07/2021 16:59

Whiskey

YouLookSoCool · 06/07/2021 17:00

Fanta/Tango?
Also I hate it but might some people prefer Prosecco to champagne?

Sorry to point out the obvious and boring thing but....water!!

andthentherewere · 06/07/2021 17:02

I'd say rose wine and whiskey. Squash or fruit shoots if you've got children coming? Maybe some bottled water.

Scottishskifun · 06/07/2021 17:02

I would probably go for a pimm's rather than a malibu I don't really know anyone who drinks malibu!

Soft drinks maybe a elderflower cordial and a couple of bottles of squash? I know a few who like vodka lime cordial and lemonade.

TeenMinusTests · 06/07/2021 17:02

J2Os?

But seems fine really.

titchy · 06/07/2021 17:02

I'd get some concentrates as well: lime, black current and orange. Soda. Tea and coffee?

Saladcrab · 06/07/2021 17:03

I would suggest cans not bottles of soft drinks nothing worse than bottles not being closed properly spilt or going flat
Smirnoff also tastes horrible to me I normally get absolute vodka if I have a party not much more expensive an can be the same if brought on offer

Hercisback · 06/07/2021 17:04

I think if you're providing it free, people won't care!

Elderflower is popular as a soft drink.

J20 are expensive, you'd be better buying fresh orange/apple/pineapple in 2lt cartons

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 06/07/2021 17:08

Gordon’s isn’t very nice - there are other cheap gins that would be better.

I don’t know anyone who drinks Malibu and I’m not sure you’ll need cider and fruit cider?

Andthen · 06/07/2021 17:08

I would really appreciate alcohol free lager if it were me (and even alcohol free gin if you could stretch to it) but you know your family and friends best and this sounds like a great bar already. Hope you have a wonderful day Smile

Youvegotafriendinme · 06/07/2021 17:09

Rose wine, Prosecco and some J20s or similar

SuddenArborealStop · 06/07/2021 17:11

You're going to get a list of personal preferences here. I'd get some mixers and whiskey but beyond that don't change your brands unless people you know would prefer.
Also tea and coffee.

Dora26 · 06/07/2021 17:11

Hate Gordon Gin

Abigailandthefoxes · 06/07/2021 17:12

Ginger beer or ginger ale.

Gazelda · 06/07/2021 17:14

Apple juice?

BlessedBeTheFruitandNut · 06/07/2021 17:15

Brandy and decent gin. I think Gordon’s is very disappointing to a person wanting a good G&T these days.

BlessedBeTheFruitandNut · 06/07/2021 17:15

And YY to an alcohol free beer. Do some research and you’ll find a good one!

Palavah · 06/07/2021 17:16

Beefeater is the best value gin at that level.

Prosecco is sickly - if you can get a cava or cremant that would be better if champagne is too pricey.

thinkningaboutit · 06/07/2021 17:17

Sounds like a good selection. If getting quite a lot of wine I'd get two different whites. Also think the suggestion of cans is good. Big bottles go flat and warm.

ContessaVerde · 06/07/2021 17:18

Love a tequila slammer at a party.
Second ginger beer.
Fentimans non alcoholic drinks are quality.

Decent to most people means their G&T not tasting of gin. I'd be quite happy with a Gordan's
Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 06/07/2021 17:20

Definitely non alcoholic beer , craft beer.
