What happens if you book a flight today for October but children can’t fly?

Unlikely given that now they can’t fly so wouldn’t be a change.

If you cancelled/couldn't go you would not be refunded.

You would only be refunded if the flight itself if cancelled by the airline.

I don't think anyone who has any sense would book October flights right now TBH.

Not sure I understand the issue, why wouldn’t the children be able to fly? Travel insurance might be a possibility but without more details it’s hard to say. The airline won’t usually refund if the flight departs as scheduled unless you’ve bought a fully flexible ticket and they are typically very expensive.

Why can't they fly?

If flying in October is only for fully vaccinated?

I think expectation is that children will take the parents vaccination status and/or need a negative covid test before travel. I haven’t personally seen anything suggesting that children will be banned from flying but would be curious if you’d heard this from a reliable source! We tend to book our travel more last minute but as we’re both vaccinated I’m fully expecting to be able to travel with the kids and hadn’t even thought about this being a problem. Would be a great excuse to leave them with the GPs for an adults only break though

I'd be very surprised if a negative test was not accepted instead of vaccination for children (and indeed adults).
We have a flight booked for October with the DCs. It's fully refundable/able to be rescheduled if we can't go.
Where are you thinking of that currently says unvaccinated/children cannot go?
