Don't know how to describe this - wierd foot sensation- anyone else had it?sensation

I keep getting a warm sensation on the top of my right foot. Its not burning or itchy or sweaty or unpleasant. It feels like someone has poured warm water onto my foot. For the past week this has been happening a dozen times a day.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? All I can find online relates to burning feet. I'm normally on the cold side so its actually quite nice but also rather wierd. The sensation floods through as though my foot is somehow wetting itself.

I really hope I'm not alone in this. Its so wierd.

Have you ever had a back problem like sciatica?

MistySkiesAfterRain · 05/07/2021 20:26

I think its water retention. I get that when its the beginnings of swollen feet. As long as I walk around it goes away.

Oh maybe. I've been very inactive this past week then I've done 17,000 steps today and its still happening, maybe I need to put my feet up...

With sciatica-like problems, it can affect your sensation.
I had a problem recently that made my whole leg feel like it was fizzing.

peridito · 05/07/2021 20:34

I've seen threads on this before ,warm feeling not restricted to foot .Seems can be anywhere .

I don't remember any conclusion being reached ,sorry .But seems not to be a cause for concern .

Bemystarlord · 05/07/2021 20:36

I get this, feels like i have spilt water on my foot!! Was told it was linked to sciatica

MoiraNotRuby · 05/07/2021 20:49

Ahh thanks. Seeing as its not a cause for concern I will just enjoy it then and hope it spreads!! I am so used to being cold I was wondering maybe this is how normal people feel warm 🙃

I had that along with some numbness on different parts of my body so was referred for an MRI - all clear thankfully. I never found out what it was and a few years on I still have a numb patch on my hip and get the hot water sensation from time to time. So weird.

Eleoura · 05/07/2021 20:53

It could be related to a back problem like sciatica, but keep an eye on it. Is it only 1 foot? 1 early sign of MS can be numbness/tingling/unusual sensations in the feet.

Yes its my best foot as well! I mangled my ankle on the other side so I'm used to the other foot sometimes aching. But this is my favourite foot and usually perfect.

Do you have any other symptoms? Pins and needles, twitching, shaking, numbness?

No nothing like that. Well I've had a small numb patch on my back for 16 years from DS epidural but that hasn't changed or anything. Only thing of note is that I spent last week wiped out with migraine but saw HCP who did blood pressure and checked me for (I assume) having a stroke, I had to do a few coordination tasks. I have not been doing yoga like I should so it makes sense if its linked to a bit of sciatica.

Hopefully it will disappear as quickly as it appeared. Bodies are weird at times!

RosesandPumpkins · 05/07/2021 21:24

Yes I have this sporadically down the back of my calves. I have to check it isn’t water or wee!!
It’s odd and so far I can find no link or connection at all.

cookiecreampie · 05/07/2021 21:26

I have this now and again. Always wondered what it was.

adagio · 05/07/2021 21:26

I get that! And pins and needles/numb in just one toe (always same one). Been happening for years and I’m still alive so I’ve assumed it’s no cause for concern..!

Thank goodness for mumsnet bringing all us foot-wetters together Grin

Havent had it for years now but I used to get it down my legs. I used to look for the water.
Really weird!

BritInAus · 06/07/2021 00:03

OMG, yes, I've had this, especially in the year post giving birth and especially in one foot. It felt like someone had turned on a heater on high and blown warm air straight at the top of my foot. Weird!
