What’s a good or bad price for a removal company?

We’re moving from a three bed to a three bed about 1.5 miles away. This time we’re thinking of getting a moving company with packers. What would be a great price and what would be an ‘OMG, are you crazy price???!!’ Literally no idea!

We’ve just got all the usual stuff you’d expect in a normal size 3 bed semi btw. Outside of London, as I expect that would be more.

We paid £300 to move from a 3 bed semi but we packed ourselves. They did take furniture apart and rebuilt it at the new house. They also took chests of drawers, dressers, storage units etc that were full of items and moved them with their contents so we didn't have to pack a lot of our things. If they had packed everything in the house I would have expected to pay about £600 maybe?

We couldn't get a removal company (end of stamp duty holiday).
A self hire vehicle for 48 hours was £400.

It's expensive but worth it. We paid £700 but packed ourselves. Had quotes between £500 and £1600. 2 bed to 3 bed, 1 mile down the road.

Wow I think this is a really good price for this situation! None of them around here would quote that little for this!

In the end we're having to get a company to transport the big things that are too big for the car and just transport evening else ourselves because of cost
