Any piercers/piercing experts?

I had my nose pierced on the 18th June do not too long ago, however the stone/stud is a claw design and the bloody thing is getting caught on all my clothes, other peoples clothes when hugging my DD or DP ect and on my face mask. It’s slowing down the healing process because I’m constantly catching it. I know you should change the jewellery for 8-10 weeks at least, I’ve had my nose done before and had to remove it for my job, last time the healing was perfect had no trouble at all.

Would I be massively upping my chances of infection if I brought a new stud (surgical steel?) to replace this one? I’ve found a set that the stone is set flush into the stud with no claws to get caught.

If I can change it so early, any tips or recommendations to do it? How to disinfect/sterilise the stud beforehand ect?

You can definitely change it early.
Especially if you are having problems with it snagging, I would actually recommend it.

Just make sure you sterilise the new jewellery (preferably in sterilising liquid but boiling it would work too), throughly wash your hands and clean the area with antibacterial soap or an alcohol swab before you start.
Try to be as gentle as you can to avoid any further irritation or trauma.

Go back to the piercer to get it changed, don’t change it yourself.
