Sunday night anxiety

It's not a good sign is it to have recurring anxiety on a Sunday evening before work. I tried making a mental list of things that would help at work but can't see most of them happening due to continued remote working. Think this may be a sign I need to job hunt, unless anyone has any good suggestions?

I did. In the end it ruined my life so I changed jobs and am now much better.

I sympathise. For me, that's always been a sign that I need to look for a new job.

RedLollyYellow · 04/07/2021 22:17

I've been there.

Now I'm out the other side.
What worked for me? I left the job, I'd worked for 20 years to get to that level of seniority and couldn't imagine a life outside of it. Eventually I left.

I had a couple of 'misses' but finally found another job that uses the skills and qualifications that I had gained and I'm happy now.

I wish I'd had the courage to leave three years before I did.
No more Sunday evening fear, no more waking up in the middle of the night panicking.

There's been a recent study, huge numbers of people have left their jobs during and after Covid. The break from the grind has made some people realise how ill their jobs were making them and that their mental health is more important.

Look after yourself.

I have it too, hate my job at the moment. Am actively looking!

crankysaurus · 04/07/2021 22:38

I'm sorry I'm not alone but at the same time it helps. Glad to hear from those of you who've changed jobs for the better and good luck to the rest of you.

I'm conscious of not jumping from the frying pan into the fire and am looking for a job that would meet what suit me rather than same thing different place.
Think you're right, RedLorryYellow, this last year has definitely put things into perspective and for me had shined a light on those things that were an issue but I could handle in normal circumstances.

Dont ruminate on what's swirling in your head, write out your list.... next to your bed on a waiting pad, are least you can sleep then
