What colour to paint walls?

We are about to put our house on the market in a few months and we have a few jobs to do first. We need to paint some of the internal walls and wondered what was the best colour to choose. We want something fairly neutral. We might have gone for magnolia but I am informed that is out. White was suggested but I wonder if that is just a bit too much. Help please

Grey is on its way out now as is white. Magnolia is back in fashion along with brown apparently! You can get a colour in B&Q called clay figurine. Its really nice - white/grey/cream colour. Goes with anything maybe try that

OP I highly recommend Jasmine White (Dulux) as an updated version of magnolia - it looks good and fresh in any light.

we have just zapped the house ready to put on the market, rooms with beige carpet have Johnsons ivory mist which is stunning and subtle, everywhere else Johnsons white whisper all including woodwork and ceilings etc- took a few days to blitz it but we literally worked from room to room and because it was all the same we didn't have to worry about washing brushes and pad pads etc- just whacked it up, I figure the new people will want to repaint and put their own stamp on asap anyway.

I second Dulux Jasmine White. I've just painted over magnolia in my son's bedroom and it looks so much lighter and brighter now.
