Long latent labour phase… anyone else?

I’m 41+5 and have been having contractions fairly regularly for about 5 weeks… I’m about 5cm dilated with no sign of active labour 😩

My baby is also breech so induction isn’t an option. I’ve been booked in for a c section this coming Friday. I’m also 41 yo so my OB is also concerned about that….

Anyone else had such a long latent phase?? With my first (20 years ago!) I was 16 hours start to finish so this is becoming a real emotional punishment!

Where abouts are you? Here in the UK 5cm they keep you in from my case and class it as active labour. Hope you get the c section sooner than later.

I’m in Scotland - because my contractions aren’t regular or strong enough I’m not classed as active 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also I don’t want a c section! I’m super keen for a natural as possible birth so I’m feeling quite sad - which won’t help I’m sure!

When you're already 5 cm, have they considered a controlled ARM?

They won’t consider any type of induction methods as baby is breech. It’s either spontaneous labour or c section.
