I’m in the mood for a good romance drama or rom com.

Feeling a bit glum and this weather definitely doesn’t help.

Things I’ve seen and liked:
Normal people
Gone with the wind
When Harry met Sally
Sex/Life
The notebook

Can be heavy or lighthearted, I don’t mind. Just want something enthralling.

Thank you!

God's Own Country

YouLookSoCool · 04/07/2021 13:17

Series - Love Life on iPlayer, Virgin River on Netflix

Treasured · 04/07/2021 13:29

Another vote for Virgin River

Odile13 · 04/07/2021 13:30

The Lake House with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. They don’t seem to make films like this anymore (or maybe they do and I just don’t hear about them!)

Provincialhousewife · 04/07/2021 13:32

Firefly Lane and When Calls the Heart on Netflix

GlitchStitch · 04/07/2021 13:32

Agree with God's Own Country, amazing film.

mysterymile · 04/07/2021 13:33

Falling in Love with a young Meryl Streep and Robert de Niro.

Two I enjoyed recently: Starstruck on iPlayer; Set It Up on Netflix

HollowTalk · 04/07/2021 13:55

Sleepless in Seattle, You Got Mail.

CrazyCatsAndKittens · 04/07/2021 13:56

I like Virgin River too.

Sillyhelp2021 · 04/07/2021 14:02

Oh i had virgin rover on my list! I shall try that next too!

Love all the suggestions.

Ive also seen 13 going on 30, sleepless in Seattle, sliding doors, the lake house, Notting hill, music and lyrics, miss congeniality and two weeks notice!

Ive clearly watched a lot! Will also try gods own country and falling in love.

Has anyone seen the secret on Netflix? Is that good?

Virgin River on Netflix, Love Life and Star Struck on iPlayer tick those boxes for me.

Ulysses · 04/07/2021 14:03

Offspring is a good shout too.

About Time

thebattleofschrutefarms · 04/07/2021 14:06

One Day
Love, Rosie
500 Days of Summer
P.S I Love You
Also you just can't beat the BBC Pride and Prejudice

Kat70 · 04/07/2021 14:09

This is Us.

But you'll go through the emotional wringer every episode !

Milomonster · 04/07/2021 18:45

Bridges of Madison County & In the Mood for Love. The latter is particularly stunning.
I watched Disobendience on Channel 4 films - it’s quite depressing but very interesting.

popcornpopping · 04/07/2021 18:58

somewhere in time..,Christopher reeve and Jane Seymour. I love it

ThePontiacBandit · 04/07/2021 19:02

Second Love life on iplayer, really uplifting!

jewel1968 · 04/07/2021 19:08

Shitsel - subtitles but a lovely thought provoking series
Brokeback Mountain - I know depressing but powerful
Agree about Bridges of M County

kittenkipping · 04/07/2021 19:16

Came on to second this is us. Such a beautiful exploration of all types of love.

MilduraS · 04/07/2021 19:48

My favourite when I need cheering up is Crazy, Stupid, Love

YouLookSoCool · 05/07/2021 13:08

Great suggestions on here. Crazy, Stupid Love is one of my favourite films along with Enough Said and It's Complicated, both bittersweet comedy rather than laugh out loud, but not sure if they're on Netflix, Prime etc.
