Staying at a friends whilst she’s away, Was in the basement (where the bedrooms are) Nipped upstairs at about 8.30, came back down to the basement literally 5 minutes later to find it 2 inches deep in water which was pouring out of the shower room into the main hall and 3 bedrooms. It was pouring out at an unbelievable rate
The outside drains had blocked in the torrential rain earlier and all the water came up through the shower bringing dirt and leaves with it and as it turns out, sewage
It’s been 5 hours of desperately trying to soak it up (who knew we had so many towels!), get the water off the wooden floors (i fashioned a scoop from a dustpan and just threw it into the bathroom 
which has tiled floors) lift everything off the floor, calling in damage control dudes to vacuum what I couldn’t get up and we now have a dehumidifier running loudly for 72 hours.
There is at least 8 loads of washing to do, cleaning the bathroom top to bottom and praying the floorboards survive.
I am wide awake listening to the rain and completely panicked that it will happen again when I fall asleep.
I’m so tired but am so worried it will happen again. Argh!
