My past employer messed up my reference for a new job. I told them and said they would be contacted again for a reference so please can our versions line-up.
They sent wrong facts a SECOND TIME. My job offer was revoked!
I told old employer this and they accepted error on their part and contacted new place. But.. I now have no job.
I'm a single mum and really worried.

Contact both of them in writing and tell them you intend to make a claim at employment tribunal for loss of earnings and see if that comes to anything. Or if you can afford to see an employment solicitor to write on your behalf and take the case on. Do you still want the new job op? Is it worth speaking to them before bringing out the big guns? Also you could just walk away and get another job and save yourself the Agro.

How bizarre, I thought employers could only give a factual statement as an official reference with dates and time you’d worked there, is that what they’re getting wrong?
