Should I wake him

My 6 year old is not well. Think a virus as his siblings have had it as well. He was ill yesterday vomiting with temperature. His brother had it as well but spent quite alot of time sleeping. And hes more himself today although still a bit off colour. The 6 year old did not really sleep yesterday day time but was vomiting. He went to bed around 8pm last night and he's still asleep now. I have checked on him several times. Should I just let him sleep? I know he's sleeping so he can fight the virus but it just seems a very long time to sleep.

He's slept solidly for 22 hours??
Yes I would try to wake him.

MonicaGellerBing · 03/07/2021 18:46

Wtf! You've let him sleep since 8pm last night?! Jesus wake him and ring an ambulance if you can't wake him. He needs water at least when he's ill

Magissa · 03/07/2021 18:47

Wake him. Will surely need some water. Hope he is ok soon op

I’d definitely try and get him up if he’s been asleep that long- has he been to the toilet at all? If not he could be dehydrated. Sips of water and ice lollies to get some fluids into him. Even if he stays in bed watching tv etc. He can also then have some calpol too. Poor thing!

If he's been asleep for 22 hours yes wake him!!! He might need medical attention!

Mamamamasaurus · 03/07/2021 18:51

Your 6 year old is still asleep, almost 24 hours later!!?? Yes, you NEED to wake him

Theunamedcat · 03/07/2021 18:52

Have you roused him at all?

isthismylifenow · 03/07/2021 18:52

Op? Have you woken him?

Susannahmoody · 03/07/2021 18:54

Oh good

Hen2018 · 03/07/2021 18:55

Has he literally gone 22 hours without a drink?

User5827372728 · 03/07/2021 18:58

I would be trying to get him to drink a lot as he’s vomited then slept for 22 hours. He’s at risk of being dehydrated

indecisivewoman81 · 03/07/2021 19:08

Gosh that's a long time to be asleep!

Try and get him to drink water and maybe some flat lemonade (think it has good electrolytes in it).

Let's hope he is on the mend d

He walked In living room few minutes after I made the post. He has a bottle of water and a biscuit. And is chatting to me . Seems the long sleep done him good.

It is a long time, I am surprised he did not wake for a drink or the toilet. However he has woken now and he is OK.

Maybe he did wake and go to the loo, you just didn't hear him and I expect you' put a glass of water by his bed.

Mine could sleep for England if they were unwell (so could I).

All's well that ends well.

He has pull ups in bed. And he had a drink next to him. Yes all is good now. He's told me he loves me about 15 times and watching a film Smile
