@yomommasmomma

Surely this isn't a serious question?!!
Given the range of responses, I think it's a fair one.

I have 3 kids and 3 dogs, give me the kids any day, one of the dogs has chewed my house to bits !! As much as the kids colour it with food and mess. I love that

Baby

BarbaraofSeville · 03/07/2021 15:14

I'll never pretend that an animal is harder than a baby, especially those you've given birth to, but as a foster kitten parent I spend an awful lot more time cleaning up poo and wiping snotty noses and sticky eyes than you'd ever imagine. It's probably easier to give a baby medicine than an animal though.

Gingersay · 03/07/2021 15:15

Puppy, I have two children I will never get another puppy. He's a year now and still such hard work, my kids were dreams compared to the bloody dog!

FindingMeno · 03/07/2021 15:16

Baby.
Never had to breastfeed a puppy.

HumunaHey · 03/07/2021 15:17

@Terrazzo

Hmm I’d go against the grain and say puppy. Because they grow into needy dogs. Kids grow up AND they come on holiday with you, can go to nursery etc. My parents are always worried about leaving their dog too long, organising holidays for the dog so that THEY can go on holiday, you have to go walk the dog every day and pick up their shit til they die. With a baby you can sit on your bum if you want, and you only have to be in contact with their poop for a couple of years - and it’s your own baby’s poo so I never found it as repulsive as dog turd.
But the question is about puppies or babies, not kids or dogs.

Baby 100%

Franklyfrost · 03/07/2021 15:19

Legally you can’t eat a baby.

rainbowandglitter · 03/07/2021 15:19

My dog just had puppies who are now 5 weeks old. They were a million times harder than my ds. It was 24/7 stuck in the same room watching them. You can't take them out in the park or car for a walk or change of scenery. It was constant watching them to make sure they weren't crushed by the mother, you don't get that with a baby.

Mummyoflittledragon · 03/07/2021 15:20

goodwinter
I don’t even find a puppy will allow you to do the housework… well it depends on the dog. The newest edition is the most difficult we’ve had. Very clever but hard to toilet train. Is better now but got great pleasure in pooing on the sofa and white things.

However baby still much harder Imo.

1forAll74 · 03/07/2021 15:21

I had a baby and a puppy at the same time many years ago,and didn't find either hard work. You just expect things to be busy and life changing, and get on with what you have to deal with.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 03/07/2021 15:23

Baby. You can cage train a puppy, but people tend to disapprove if you cage train a baby.

KindnessMyFriends · 03/07/2021 15:25

Baby. Baby. Baby.

MildredPuppy · 03/07/2021 15:26

Baby. Puppy slept through on the 3rd night and potty trained within weeks.

LadyCatStark · 03/07/2021 15:26

Puppy definitely.

Howcanthisbe123 · 03/07/2021 15:28

Baby, but only just, both are hard work!

Shapesorted · 03/07/2021 15:28

@Scrunchies

I’m honestly astonished at the number of people who think a puppy is harder than a baby. It’s makes me jealous actually, as I had such a shit time with traumatic birth, NICU, cmpa /reflux, horrendous breast feeding journey and no sleep. I foster working line GSDs before they start police dog training so have quite a lot of dog experience. Fuck my life people must have had easy babies, and I do feel bitter about what I had to go through.
And some people had a rough puppy experience, maybe you've been lucky with dogs in the same way I was lucky with babies. I had horrendous birth recoveries (actual deliveries were ok) and I had babies that fed and slept well. But we had an epileptic puppy which has been extremely traumatic and stressful and anxiety inducing to deal with. Not to mention expensive!
Runnerduck34 · 03/07/2021 15:29

Baby
Obviously!
Hate it when people claim a puppy or dog is just like having a baby or child its clearly not.
SIL ( childless) claimed this when we visited her to meet her new puppy, 10 mins later she locked it in a dog crate in the utility room and went down the pub🤣🤣

Just10moreminutesplease · 03/07/2021 15:30

My baby is 5 months old and so far it’s puppy for me!

We’ll see if that changes once my baby can move around though Grin.

CormoranStrike · 03/07/2021 15:30

Baby

Throwntothewolves · 03/07/2021 15:33

Baby hands down. But that's not to say puppies are easy, too many people think they'll know how to behave in a week and will just hang around looking cute and giving cuddles whenever they're humans want. They take work to be 'good dogs' and learn how to live with their human family.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 03/07/2021 15:38

Baby all day long

Pancakepipsqueak · 03/07/2021 15:39

Definitely baby (new mum to a 9 month old with a 18 month old dog too).
BUT I will say - 3 am trips outside in winter for puppy to have a wee is definitely harder than 3 am nappy changes.
