Baby position at term - ROT - help!

Due my second baby this week and it keeps flip flopping about!

In the last week it’s been back to back, spine down my left front (which I believe is the optimal position) and now following a routine check, my notes say it’s right occipital transverse which I think means it’s looking side on? Only 3/5 engaged but I’m really hoping to get it in a better position for labour as I had to have a pretty intense assisted delivery with DD1 which I struggled with so wondered if anyone had any stories of changing baby position or if any spending lots of time on all fours will help etc?

My midwife recommended not slouching on the sofa, and to get on my knees and scrub the skirting boards! She was quite traditional... I can’t say it worked though as DD was still breech and I ended up with a c-section!

@ATowelAndAPotato I’ve read that scrubbing floors etc is meant to help!

This baby is head down but just looking to the side rather than facing my back - I think this does increase labour pain and time, and also increases chance of forceps/vontuse or emcs so I’m just hoping to find a way to get it in optimal position and keep it there!

Maybe it’s common for baby’s to be in a side on position and still move in labour but hoping to hear some real life experiences to boost my morale!

Well I know that they scanned me again when I went in for my section, even though they’d scanned me a day or two before. Because babies basically do whatever they like and can turn right at the last minute!
