How to get baby to nap longer

Hi all
Please can you give me some advice on how to get longer naps, particularly the lunchtime nap? My LO is only sleeping between 30-50 mins per nap - I’m aware this probably means she’s not linking her sleep cycles. She does manage to sleep for a decent stretch at night though.
I feel like I’m setting the naps up well and have recently begun putting her down awake and letting her settle herself to sleep.
But we just can’t get a decent nap length.
Any suggestions welcome! She is 16 weeks.

It might just be the way she is. My DS never took more than one sleep cycle for a nap. 40 mins is his max, whether in my arms, on the sofa, in the crib, in the pram or sling.
If she’s sleeping well at night, and getting on well in terms of development, wouldn’t worry about it.

You’ve just hit the 4 month sleep regression. It will pass.

You could try gently stirring her around 25 minutes in.
For mine that was a foot rub, or dummy wiggle. Enough to make baby stir but not wake. Sometimes that helps reset the sleep cycle so they then sleep longer.

@HelloBunny you might be right. I wouldn't say she's sleeping "well" at night but she is sleeping longer stretches thankfully.

@NavigatingAdolescence I don't think it is the regression, she's never napped longer so it's no change.

@DinosApple I've heard about this, I may give it a go. I've been too scared to do it as worry it will properly wake her and then her naps will be even shorter!!
