I rarely sell anything because I've never had anything nice enough to sell before really but after moving house and re-decorating I sold my sofa and armchair on Gumtree last week. It was in lovely condition and a nice girl who had bought her first home had it off me, at the price I asked for it (albeit priced very sensibly and a bargain IMO). Her dad came with a van that night to collect it and all was well.
After such a pleasant experience which provided such mutual benefit to both parties I decided yesterday to pop a chest of drawers and some matching bedside tables on Gumtree again. Oh my goodness my phone has not stopped pinging, people asking for more pictures, making offers, asking to come and see them. One woman asked if she could come at the weekend to collect but someone said they could come tomorrow, I went with the person for tomorrow as they were willing to pay the full price and collect first thing in the morning. However the woman who offered to come on Saturday has kicked off, asked why she wasn't given the option of collecting tomorrow morning and called me rude
I've literally had over 25 messages I've literally lost track I just said yes to the first person tbh.
Is there an etiquette to this kind of thing? Is it just me that feels like selling things is more hassle that it's worth?
