How does Zoom work?

DD has an appointment next week and she has just had an email confirmation which says 'you will be emailed a Zoom link 5 minutes prior' - neither of us have ever used Zoom before, is it as simple as a clicky link or will she need to download something first?

Yes, just click on the link on the invite and select "join via browser"

On a computer, just click the link.

Some tablets and phones need a download of an app.

Or she could set up her own account before (it's free) & practice

Click the link and you should get a pop up box saying open in app in quite big letters, don't press this as the app will start to download. Below this in smaller letters it should say open in browser, press this and it should go straight in.

You can click on it any time and it will download and install the application. I'd do that well in advance just so you don't get stressed on the day.

Can you get someone you know who does use zoom to send you a link before the day so you can play around and make sure it works etc ? Also good to maybe have a background photo or know how to blur your background etc.
Hope it all goes well. Zoom is pretty straightforward once in.

If you’re on an iPad or phone it’s worth downloading the app before.
On a laptop just “open in browser” as others have said.
