When are your kids summer holidays? Inset days?

My 6 year old is desperate to go to the beach but I was hoping to try to miss the crowds a bit (ha ha hollow laugh). He has an inset day 22nd and 23rd July. Are lots of other schools having these days as inset days as well or are most kids in school until Friday afternoon 23rd July? We are East of England / South East.

We break up Tuesday 20th - Hertfordshire.

Summer holidays start on the 16th. Yorkshire.

Break up 9th, private school.

Our holidays start on the 16th in the north

DC in bucks break up on Friday 16th.
DC in Oxfordshire breaks up on weds 21st

We are North East and break up at lunch time on the 16th.

You'd probably be best checking the websites of a few local schools close to either you or the beach you're planning to go to. Just a few answers suggest this will vary wildly and schools up here finished last week!

Friday 23rd July here in the SE. Which beach ? Lots you have to book parking still so that should limit it. Whether they carry that on after the second attempt at freedom day who knows? As your trip should fall after that.
I too would love to take the kids to the beach, I just can't afford the petrol. Having just got paid, it's already all spent and so summer holidays will be only free stuff. Such a shame being that we won't be going on holiday this year and didn't last year either.

Midlands - DS breaks up on the 21st.

Inset day Fri 23rd, we're on the South Coast. Getting to our local beaches is so much harder over the last year, crazy busy and parking is a mare. I have taken a chance on 2 days when DH has time off and have booked parking spaces near a beach! Just need the weather now...

I finish work on 20th and DS finishes school on 14th.

Most schools break up before that date. DS finishes on the 22nd and that's late compared to everyone else I've spoken to.
