Leaving Universal Credit...no last payment? Help.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of leaving universal credit? I moved in with a partner and started a new job in the same week. I notified UC I wouldn’t need those support anymore (🥳 which was huge for me) but I expected a payment at the end of the month to carry me through until my first pay. I moved a few days before the 23rd which is the day I usually declare any earnings to them etc and they calculate my payment. So this wasn’t done.

I can’t get on my claim because within minutes of contacting them my portal/journal was shut down.

I’m so confused as when you sign up you go 6 weeks or whatever it is without a payment so I thought it was always a month behind so I’d still have some money to tie me over. Not the biggest deal in the world I’m grateful I had help but it’s put me in a really tight spot now for a while until I get paid. Any advise would be appreciated :-)

Hi not an expert but I work in a related field and sometimes two changes in the same week ie partner and job can throw the system. Doesn't mean you will not be entitled to it though, if you can get through to them to query I would. Congratulations by the way! xx

It depends on your assessment period if you are due a payment or not. If you claim was closed in the middle of your assessment period for instance you will receive no payment for the whole of the assessment period unfortunately. If I was your case manager I would have advised you to keep your claim open at least until you received the final payment you would have been due.
