I'd like to order some to try but am a bit spoiled for choice after scrolling through loads on Etsy this evening 🤯

Max budget is about a tenner or so for both.

I just use a handmade conditioner bar from my local Zero Waste shop. As for shampoo and bodywash, I use Dr Bronner's castile soap. One block lasts ages and you can wash hair, body and clothes with it. Very useful stuff. I've heard that it was also used as laundry and dish soap before other modern ones were commercially available. It's very versatile.

I like the Friendly Conditioner bar - you can mix it with boiling water and store in a jar and it's like a conditioner from a bottle

Struggled a bit more with shampoo bars but I like the Beauty Kubes - they're cubes which crumble and foam up to wash your hair.

I do remember it's worth checking the water hardness in your area as a lot of the bars won't work well in a hard water area.

Grüum bars. Last forever and leave your hair silky smooth.

I think you can get a free trial then they're £5 an item on subscription. We get them delivered every 2 months.

I use ecoliving patchouli and cocoa shampoo. Alter/native conditioner - something and Shea butter. Took me a while to find the right ones for my hair but I now wash it twice a week or less rather than every other day and it stays feeling lovely.

Shetland soap company have good shampoo bars but not cheap, I found it didn't last long too

I like The Soho Soap Company for shampoo & conditioner bars. Took me a while but am now a total convert. They are about £6 each & lots of different bars depending on your hair type.

I use Gruum bars and love them. I live in a hard water area. I have a subscription that costs £11 for two bars, which I get every 3 months as they last ages. I had a trial bar (full size) for £2.99 including postage.

The Proper Soap Company 🧼

First place I have had a second order with, I think they have a sale on now.

Anna I seem to recall seeing someone else mention that they might not work well in hard water areas, on a thread a while back. I'll see if the descriptions mention it.

Thanks all, I'll have a look shortly at your suggestions :)
