Yellow camera and phone

Hi all,

I wasn’t speeding - always careful with my speed.

Just a terrible day. At work and home. 20 month old was crying in the car for my phone. Gave it to her. It was attached to phone holder. Then she threw it. Was waiting in traffic and just picked it up from seat near her and attached it back on holder.

Totally forgot about the speed camera about 3-5 meters away.

Should I be expecting a fine? Points?

I am soo annoyed with myself :(

If you were in traffic how could you also be speeding?

You mean for holding your phone?

Speeding cameras don’t actively record, they take snapshots when speeding is detected. I don’t believe anyone watches them back.

I think you’d have need to have been seen & pulled over by the police to be done for this, but I’m not 100% sure on that - but the speed camera won’t be relevant, I’m fairly certain of that.

You will only get a ticket if you were speeding. The yellow speed cameras aren't cctv cameras with someone watching them, they only generate photos when the excess speed is triggered.

Goodness, I think you've misunderstood how speed cameras work. The clue is in the name, they are triggered when a car goes past at more than the limit, they don't snoop on drivers eating a sandwich or re-applying their lipstick Grin
