I'm thinking of buying a few books to give my daughter's school at the end of term. She's in reception and they've been really good with their provision when closed and she's been really happy there.
Anyone who works in a school - is this an ok idea? If so what books are favourites? I was thinking something like the Little People Big Dreams set but are they too young? Or will kids find them boring?
They did a whole week of work based around Elton John and a kids' book about him so that makes me think might it be good idea. Feel free to tell me it's a daft idea and to just get biscuits instead!

Things would have liked to read as a teacher. Lovely rhymes and they would have giggled. Think about the character of your teacher though as some may not like a couple of those.

Voucher to a local bookshop imo - the teacher will know best what gaps need plugging in the class library. Room on the broom etc I'd expect most classes to have.

And you include a nice note that it would be lovely if they'd buy a few picture books with it, so that next year's children can enjoy learning to read/shared story time as much as your dd did. Most teachers I know would love to pick out a few beautiful new books for their libraries.

There’s a beautiful book called ‘slow down’ I’m a reception teacher and recently bought it for my class. It’s beautiful and the children love it!

Yes, good point about possibly duplicating stock. And that the teacher would enjoy choosing the books themselves. A voucher might be the way to go, thanks.
I am very tempted by Slow Down, I do think that would be something the teacher would rate.
