Considering a move to haywards heath. We live fairly locally now but dont know lots about HH apart from spending the day there a few times. What’s it like for children? What are schools like? Any local knowledge appreciated!

Hayward's Heath is meant to be nice but burgess hill which is close is meant to be not as nice (sorry if anyone lives there)

It’s ok. A bit bland, not much character. Lindfield nearby is lovely though.

Nice area to live. House prices are shooting up and the market is hot, although most places are the same at the minute. A few new independent restaurants and coffee shops have opened recently so the area is improving.

It's nice if a little dull. The schools are good and there are some nice pubs and restaurants. The surrounding villages are lovely.

When I was a teenager there was a college in haywards heath. Has that gone?

There is still a college, but I only know from Google. I’ve never heard anyone speak of it.

I lived there, but 20 years ago. I have in-laws who live there. It's nice - no cultural life to speak of, but easy to get to Brighton and London. Good leisure centre, nice library. There is now a Waitrose by the station (not a big one, a commuter-size one, I think) as well as the big Sainsburys. I prefer it to BH. 'Nice' seems to be the main adjective used to describe HH Grin

I wouldn't bother with the villages - they are beautiful but no infrastructure and people are really car-dependent.

@Mum233 the college closed but reopened in 2020,
