Hi!
Hoping the crowds of mumsnet can help a girl out. My Dad is going to be 60 in August this year and I am so stuck for gift ideas. I am usually generous with my Dad as he means the world to me so I am open to all budget options...
Bit of background on him... he still works full time but is financially comfortable. We go on nice family holidays, trips, meals out etc and he loves to treat us if he can. He LOVES music (Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Clash, Rolling Stones etc etc) and loves vinyls. He has his own vinyl player so that is not an option and also his vinyl record collection is HUGE and still growing. He loves Chelsea FC and just a great overall family man. Also loves Whisky, vintage watches, vintage cars.
I want something meaningful but also not small. He is having a hard year. First the pandemic but also now my Mother has decided she doesn't want to be a part of the marriage any more and in the coming months they will be separating and he is DEVASTATED. So another reason why I want to pull out all the stops for this bday as I don't know how much longer we have together as a family of four.
One thing I have seen is the framed prints of '60 reasons why we love you'. I really like this idea and would be nice for him to hang in his new house once he moves out etc. But I need something else - something like silverware? Please help with ideas....
He has a lovely whisky tumbler already, has lots of art, he loves clothes so buys himself a fair amount. Any ideas I would be so grateful.
Thanks!
