Sick of delivery drivers looking through big living room window

Why do some delivery drivers think it’s ok to bang on your window and gawp through when they have parcel for you, I really had a go at him this morning, second one in week to do this, made me jump out of my skin , the door is next to the window, we also have a guard dog who hears everything! Anyone else have this, thank goodness it’s the odd few, but never the less unnerving,

Oh my god yes this gets my goat. I have some parcel deliveries who bang on the window before they even ring the doorbell. I get that they are working to tight schedules but just ring my doorbell, no need to bang on the window. It’s not like they even hang around, they just leave the parcel on the doorstep so no need for the banging.
Also winds me up that they don’t ever seem to think an elderly person might be scared by it, or do themselves an injury hurrying to the door. Really winds me up.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds it rude!! I hadn’t actually thought of an elderly person being scared, I’m not of a nervous disposition at all . But I had my back to the window sitting on sofa, I must admit I let rip at him!

I hate this too, tbh anyone knocking on a window I find rude.

My mil and father both do this so took to bring petty and opening the small window to say hello And start a conversation rather than going straight to the door to let them in.
I've told them time and time again to knock on the door but now I get a hybrid of the two and they knock on the door then immediately come to the window to see if I'm out of my seat yet.

I'm a postie and I agree it's rude. I would always knock on door first. I never usually knock on windows.

I have a conservatory and when I'm sitting in it with doors open, every delivery person comes to that instead of front door which is not great if I'm wearing a bikini

None of our posties ever bang on the window , just a couple of del men we have , to be honest they tend to leave things at the front door generally I get to the door as they are walking down the drive and I will say most are hundred per cent respectful,

My in laws used to do this. Not so much banging but looming in at the window and gawping. Scared the shit out of me. Just knock on the door!

None of our delivery bods have ever banged on our front window! At this house or our previous one. Dunno if thats typical or if window banging is.
