Gifts for pre school teachers

DC3 will be leaving pre school in July to go to big school in September. It’s the end of an era because all of my children went to this pre school, where they thrived, were loved and nurtured, and they all absolutely loved it. The pre school teachers are amazing and I want to get something to say thank you for six years of wonderful care.

Every year I’ve just gotten them chocolates and wine but trying this year to think of something a bit more special. But really can’t think what, especially given lockdown restrictions/ Covid precautions. Gift cards, vouchers, experiences??

What about a voucher or a set of books from your family to the children there. As well as a gift for each teacher?

I used to work in a pre-school, the nicest thing I ever got in the 10 years I was there was a really beautiful Christmas bauble, I always remember the little girl and her family each year when I get it out. It’s much better than an everyday thing that you need to find space for all the time.

Appreciate that might be tricky to source at this time of year!

Some equipment for the class?

My youngest just finished pre-school. I sent them a message explaining that I’d like to make a donation for the teachers to spend as they liked and gave them a rough figure. They chose some outdoor play equipment.

All of the parents also clubbed together and gave each teacher a voucher for afternoon tea.

I did a photo mug with a pic from dc at the start of journey then a few to the end. Some Inc their keyworker.
Then a message saying thank you for fun pre school years. Love...

BTW I’m a teacher (rarely get gifts as I work in a secondary school) and by far, the loveliest thing is a heartfelt letter or card.

Plant for the garden - it's lovely to have something that flowers every year and reminds you of that child. A thermos mug - you can get personalised ones.
