Booked for London this weekend. Orginally going to Matilda which was cancelled, rebooked for Joseph which has again been cancelled. So far we are doing the eye and river cruise on Friday. Evening is now free so would like to find something fun to replace that plus need somewhere for dinner. Saturday science museum and sarastro for dinner. Sunday of London. Any recommendations for friday night. Had a look at circus, is it any good? Son is 10 and likes shows.

The tate modern is pretty cool, you can head up to the viewing gallery. As for food it depends if your DC is up for new things as I would suggest chinatown. Its fun up there

Sushisamba, one of the places up the Shard (the food was awful, view is great), or you could just book to go up the Shard for the view and eat close by.

Borough Market may be a nice idea - is he into food?

cheesenpickle · 27/06/2021 14:37

@idontlikealdi. Oh! I have looked at the price and decided against it.
@mynameisbrian. Hes not fussy, we did china town last visit so wanted somewhere different.

We've had complaints from clients about circus being inappropriate, burning nipple tassels etc. It's fun but not for kids!

Jfw82 · 27/06/2021 14:46

Inamo is quite good fun- interactive tables with games to play etc (And contactless ordering well before Covid!)

mynameisbrian · 27/06/2021 14:52

My DC like meat liqueour, also belgos as mentioned above, another good place is bodeans. We go to bodeans every year before xmas panto. Kid friendly and reasonable. Bar shu is cool although has some odd selections (soho) but you could try and get a table with a view over the buzzy street

mynameisbrian · 27/06/2021 15:00

You can get a cable car too which is fun at night

Perillian? New BBQ place at Coal Drops Yard.

@idontlikealdi. Definitely not, my son would have been horrified!
Thanks for suggestions going to look at them.
@Jfw82. I just found inamo. No prices on the menu though, any idea ?
@mynameisbrian cable car a definite consideration.

My daughter enjoyed going up in the Emirates cable cars on a hot evening in London and seeing the sunset over the city. We walked around the very pretty Greenwich Penninsula and had some street food there, sat on the bench people watching. It was one of her favourite evenings.

I think mains ranges £12-22ish and starters/tapas £6-12. Haven't been for a while but it was fun

Some shows are still on I think, eg The Play that Goes Wrong.
