Air purifier for allergies?

Does anyone have an air purifier and does it help with allergies?

Have dust mite, tree pollen, grass and flower allergy and olfactory hallucinations (weird smells)

They all seem to trigger one another so this time of year is a nightmare and I can 'smell' the dust and pollen and it hurts my chest.

We replaced our dehumidifier last winter and the new one happened to have a HEPA filter/air purifier mode.
Tested it out this spring/summer and it’s been amazing. It’s really cut down on my hay fever symptoms when I’m at home. It means I can actually sleep.

I’ve had one for about 15 years, expensive at the time but it does help.

I bought one five years for my lungs. The air feels really nice, and it takes away smells. I don't use it all the time but its nice a few hours before bedtime. I bought mine on Ebay second hand/almost new, as I couldn't justify/wasn't sure it would help (didn't know of MN then), don't regret it and am glad I did.

I have one. Honestly don't know if it makes a difference, but not having one seems like a bad idea now. I don't want things to get even worse.

@MistySkiesAfterRain could you advise what make yours is?

I am trying to find a good one to help with my sons asthma and any recommendations are welcomed

Hi also following with interest as DD has pollen/dust allergies and I need something to make her life at home easier as it’s really getting her down. Could you all please tell me which ones you’ve bought?

Yes we have one in our bedroom. It's called a Blue Air , I think the model is 3410 . It has a night mode so will operate on silent.

Thanks @Sunnyday321.
